- VCL notes for DIARRHEA ANSI virus
- *****************************************
-
- Included in the archive are the VCL files for
- DIARRHE4 and DIARRHE6 viruses, EAT.COM - the
- ANSI program which produced EATIT.DAT for the
- 'dropper' table in DIARRHE6, FIND.DAT - the
- file mask table accompanying EATIT.DAT, and
- ALLIN4.DAT - the 'crunched' ASM product of
- TheDraw-generated ANSI for use in DIARRHE4.
- (IMAGELENGTH for ALLIN4 equ 263).
-
- In addition find: DIARRHEA.COM (assembled DIARRHE4
- virus), DIARRHE6.COM (assembled DIARRHE6 virus),
- assembly listings for DIARRHE4 and 6 and accompanying
- docfile - DIARRHEA.TXT.
-
- Additional technical note: some text editors don't
- like the files produced by FILE2DB. Most notable
- among these is the MS-DOS 5.0 editor and a few
- other 'off' brands. Strangely, the hex values
- listed after 'db' are not passed through, although
- they are present in the file and can be output
- to the printer. Weird. (I have no idea why this is
- happening.)
-
- Finally, when you assemble these viruses you'll find
- they're a few bytes short of the supplied copies.
- This is because the archived viruses have been attached
- to a 6-byte shell .COMfile through controlled infection.
-
- This way, when they go out into the BBS jungle, they're
- already encrypted and a bit more opaque to the casual prying,
- uninformed passersby.
